Mara works in layers, mostly on boards pulled out of skips within a mile of her studio. This is her first solo show and she is usually in on Thursdays if you want to ask her about it.

Three ways to sit.

All three are consumption spaces. Pick by mood: the gallery is quiet, the patio is loud, the mezzanine is for a group who want a door.

Something happens most nights.

Workshops, listening sessions, brand tastings and the occasional watch party. Most are free with a table.

Take the whole floor, art and all.

The mezzanine holds thirty, the whole building holds a hundred and forty. Birthdays, launches, wraps, and one wedding reception so far.

House Rules

Short list, and we do mean them.

These are the conditions our consumption licence runs on. Break one and we lose the room, so we are strict about them and friendly about everything else.

1Photo ID, every single visit21+. Physical ID, not a photo of one. Regulars, artists and the owner's mum all get asked.
2Everything is bought hereNothing consumed on the premises comes in from outside. It is a licence condition, not a sales tactic.
3No alcohol at allNone served, none brought in, and if you have clearly had a few we will not let you in. Sorry.
4Nothing leaves the tableConsumed on site or it stays behind the counter. Taking it out of the door is a licence breach.
5Do not driveWe will call you a cab and we will not hand back keys. Bus stops outside until 00:40.
6Ask before you photograph anyonePlenty of people here would rather not appear on your feed. The art, on the other hand, is very photogenic.
Artists

The wall is open. Show us something.

Six weeks, nine works, no commission, and we hang it properly with lighting and labels. We show one artist at a time and we have never charged one a penny.

Ground floor and mezzanine on Bellenden Road, patio round the back through the yellow door. The gallery is free to walk around whether or not you are buying anything, and you are welcome to just look.
